Banks Changing Commercial Real Estate Lending Policies

Traditionally big banks have relied on commercial real estate as one of the most lucrative segments of their portfolio. The reason is pretty straighforward: larger commercial projects have been considered more reliable because lenders use more stringent evaluations of both the borrower and the risks than is the case with smaller projects.
Because commercial projects involve larger sums of money, in most cases smaller institutions had a difficult time competing with large banks. But the meltdown of 2008 has forced most big US banks to make serious changes in their commercial real estate lending policies. And these changes are having an important impact on commercial lending.
Big banks with extensive exposure to real estate markets are pruning marginal accounts in an attempt to limit their exposure. This sometimes even involves telling clients in good standing to move their accounts somewhere else. And in many cases whether a commercial deal looks good or not it will not go ahead with a large bank because they have decided their exposure in that sector is already too high.
As one might expect this creates opportunities for small banks, lending institutions and brokers with connections to alternative sources of commercial real estate funding. These smaller lenders are often willing to consider good deals that the large banks no longer find attractive.

The Security Forces have taken control of a camp complex of the LTTE terrorists West of Puthukudiyiruppu. It contained a chemical weapons production factory.
Our Special Representative Sujith Vithana Pathirana giving information from the Wanni battlefront said troops of the 14th Sinha Regiment guided by Lt. Randula hathnagoda of the 642nd Brigade and the leadership of Col. Nishantha Wanniarachchi of Task Force Four succeeded in capturing this complex with the chemical weapons factory. It was overrun after heavy fighting. It contained most modern equipment. The soldiers doubt that the LTTE may have used this factory within the thick jungles, West of Puthukudiyiruppu for the production of chemical weapons. Kits used in research laboratories were also found. The LTTE is believed to have secured the modern foreign equipment during the ceasefire period. It was also clear how the LTTE had maintained the secrecy of the camp. There were many chemical weapons concealed in the area of the camp, spanning 10 acres. The terrorist outfit had prohibited the civilians from entering the premises. Danger warning signboards were displayed all over the place. This is the first time that the Army had succeeded in seizing such a camp. Places where kerosene was stored, bowsers containing acid and underground fuel bunkers were found in the premises in addition to two storied buildings. There was also a most modern laboratory. The LTTE had fled destroying their equipment. More than 20 water tanks were installed at several locations within the camp premises.

Wrist tattoos have been growing in popularity recently. Much of this is attributed to the many celebrities that are now sporting tattoos on their wrists. There are many different types of tattoos specifically designed for the wrist now, allowing the owner to hide them if necessary. For instance, while a celebrity may not need to worry about a tattoo on their wrist, someone in a corporation setting may. The wrist offers ways to conceal a tattoo when needed, yet display it when desired.
As we mentioned, there are a number of designs made for the wrist. From stars and symbols on the inside of the wrist, to full bracelet tattoos wrapping around the entire wrist. While the bracelet style of tattoo is harder to conceal, they are still very popular - especially among celebrities.
Of course, the process of getting a wrist tattoo is the same as anywhere else on the body. A lot of times people will ask if it hurts more on the wrist - especially the inside of the wrist - due to the sensitive areas. However, as with any tattoo, the area getting the ink quickly becomes accustomed to the process and the wrist does not hurt any more than anyplace else.
The healing process of the wrist tattoo can be a bit more troublesome though. This is mainly due to the amount of things that a wrist comes into contact with throughout the day. As with any tattoo, proper care must be administered to it following the instructions that your artist gave you. In the case of a wrist, try to avoid long sleeves and watches (among other things) during the healing process.
As with any tattoo, do your homework on the type of wrist ink you want to get. Consider your daily environment, both at work and out, and determine how a tattoo on the wrist may impact that. While tattoos in general have been gaining in popularity, some environments may still look at them with consternation. Be smart about what you do.
